A retractable awning is an aluminum-framed, fabric-covered awning housed in a slim cassette mounted to the fascia of your home or an independent post structure. It extends on motorized arms to cover a patio, deck, or window, and retracts fully back into the cassette when not in use. No posts in your yard, no permanent structure, no permits in most jurisdictions — and fully retracted, it disappears into a clean aluminum line along your roofline.

Retractable awnings don’t count as permanent structures in most jurisdictions. Install in a day. No setbacks, no engineering drawings, no HOA approvals in most cases.
